Texas Cookie Sheet Cake - One of my grandmother's favorites
Mix in large bowl:
2 Cups flour
2 Cups sugar
1 Tsp. cinnamon
2 Tsp. baking soda
Mix in sauce pan:
2 Sticks butter or margarine
2 TBSP. cocoa
1 Cup water
Bring this to a boil and pour over first mixture - do not mix yet.
In another bowl beat:
2 Eggs
½ Cup buttermilk
½ Tsp. vanilla
Add to first mixture and beat well by hand.
Bake at 350° on a cookie sheet pan for 25 minutes.
Icing:
Put in pan and bring to a boil:
1 Stick butter or margarine
4 TBSP. cocoa
Remove from stove and add:
6 TBSP. buttermilk - then throw out the rest of this gross liquid !!
1 Tsp. vanilla
1 Box powdered sugar (1 lb)
¾ Cup chopped pecans
Beat by hand until smooth and spread over hot cake.
