Jerky If the meat tends to be tough soak the slices in Coke Classic, raw garlic diced, and any spice such as, liquid smoke, worchershire sauce or soy sauce, dry spices like cajun spice, jamacan, lemon pepper or whatever your preference is. Soak for 4 hours or more. Bake at 180 degrees in gas oven or 200 degrees in an electric oven place the meat on some type of open rack or screen material and allow meat to cook slow. The amount of each spice or ingrediant willl depend on personal taste. You can use this soaking method for wild game and then fry the strips once you dip it in milk/egg batter {1 egg to 1 cup milk} then roll in corn meal or plain flour The meat will float when done if oil temp around 350 Degrees |
