Thom Kaumeyer's history with Palomar College football is no short lived thing. At Palomar Kaumeyer was named an JC All-American safety in 1986 he then went on to the University of Oregon and was an All-Pac 10 selection at free safety and an Academic All-Pac 10 pick. Kaumeyer played in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and the New York Giants. Kaumeyer Returned to Palomar in 1991 as an assistant coach and was Head Coach in 1994 leading the Comets in an 8-3 season, finishing ranked 18th in the nation. There is no better coach for the job than one who has been on both sides of a winning team. Kaumeyer now lives with his wife Kayoko in Del Mar.
